  Rental Terms & Conditions

  1. Hirer/ Driver requirements

     Hirer and any additional driver have to:

     • Be 24-60 years old with at least 2 years of driving experience.
     • Singaporean: Hirer and any additional driver have to produce original Singapore NRIC and original Singapore driving license upon collection of vehicle.
     • Foreigner: Hirer and any additional driver have to produce original passport or other permit and original valid country driving license or international driving permit.
     • Only authorised drivers are insured to drive our rental vehicle.

  2. Rates

     • All prices quoted are in Singapore dollars and are subject to 7% GST (Goods and Services Tax).
     • Rental is calculated based on 24 hours basis. Minimum rental duration for weekday is 1 day and weekend is 2 days.

  3. Malaysia Drive

     • All our vehicles can be driven to Malaysia up to Kuala Lumpur only with additional surcharge of $40 per day.
     • Towing service will be provided in the event of a breakdown / accident in Malaysia. No replacement car will be given in Malaysia.

  4. Fuel

     • Upon returning of the vehicle, Hirer should refill the fuel back to the same level as per given. Any petrol shortage will be charged at $20 per 1/8 tank.
     • Refuel vehicle with minimum 95 Octane petrol / 98 Octane petrol (For Premium Continental) Diesel Euro 5.

  5. Mileage

     • Mileage is limited to 200km per day or 1200km per week for Singapore drive. Excess mileage would be charged at $0.40 per km.
     • No mileage cap for Malaysia drive.

  6. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) insurance

     • All our vehicles are covered under insurance subject to damage excess liability, the damage excess liability may be reduced by purchasing optional CDW insurance.
     • The excess for Malaysia use vehicle is double of the applicable excess.

  7. Deposit and Payment

     • Refundable deposit is required for each and every rental:
       • Singapore usage - $ 300
       • Malaysia usage - $ 500
       • Cars of 3000cc & above - $800
     • Deposit is payable upon collection of vehicle.
     • We accept major Credit Cards (Mastercard and Visa) or NETS payment only.
     • Cash payment is not accepted.

  8. Self-collection and returning of vehicle

     • Hirer may collect/return the vehicle from/to our office during our office operating hours:
       • Weekdays (Mon to Fri) - From 8:00am to 5:00pm
       • Saturdays - From 8:00am to 4:00pm (HQ office)
       • Saturdays - From 8:00am to 12:00pm (Outlets)
       • Sunday / Public Holidays - Closed

  9. Delivery / Collection charge (during office hours)

     Depending on Postal Code District $ 5 - $ 50 per trip

  10. Optional Add-ons

  11. Cashcard

      Hirer / Driver is to be reminded to purchase / insert Cashcard into the In-vehicle unit (IU) for ERP gantry / carpark entry.

  12. Fines And Notices

      Hirer / Driver is responsible for all fines, penalties and summons incurred during the period of hire in Singapore and Malaysia.

  13. Advance Booking

      Hirer may collect/return the vehicle from/to our office during our office operating hours:

      • Able to book up to 90 days in advance.
      • Motorway Car Rentals reserves the right to assign any vehicle of similar or higher capacity in accordance to our stock availability should the booked vehicle becomes unavailable.

  14. Cancellation Policy

      • A one day paid hire charges will be forfeited if cancellation notice is less than 48 hours (2 working days).
      • Deposit will be forfeited during festive / rental peak period.

  15. No Show

      In the event that the booked vehicle is not collected or not collected at the agreed time, hire charges paid will be forfeited.
